Testing task: Navigate backwards to an unchecked radio button in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button."

Test instructions

1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the radio group.
3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
4. With focus on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button.
5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Regular crust' radio button.
   • Shift+Tab

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

1. Role 'group' is conveyed
2. Name of the group, 'Pizza Crust', is conveyed
3. Role 'radio button' is conveyed
4. Name of the radio button, 'Regular crust', is conveyed
5. State of the radio button, 'unchecked', is conveyed
6. Position of the radio button, 1, is conveyed
7. Number of radio buttons in the group, 3, is conveyed
