Testing task: Read information about a meter in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the meter, read information about the meter"

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the meter.
  3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn on the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. With the reading cursor on the meter, read information about the meter
  5. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the meter, read information about the meter
    • Insert+Tab
    • Insert+Up

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'meter' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Central Processing Unit (CPU) Usage' is conveyed
  3. Numeric value '36.166519936288' is conveyed
  4. Minimum value '0' is conveyed
  5. Maximum value '100' is conveyed
