Testing task: Open submenu in interaction mode

With NVDA in interaction mode, describe how NVDA behaves when performing task "Open 'Text Align' submenu"

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for NVDA. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the 'Text Align' menu item.
  3. If NVDA did not make the focus mode sound when the test page loaded, press Insert+Space to turn focus mode on.
  4. Open 'Text Align' submenu
  5. Using the following commands, Open 'Text Align' submenu
    • Enter
    • Space
    • Down Arrow

Success Criteria

To pass this test, NVDA needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. The name 'Left' is conveyed
  2. The role 'menu item radio' is conveyed
  3. The position of the item and number of items in the menu are conveyed
