Testing task: Open a menu to the last item in interaction mode

With JAWS in interaction mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With focus on the 'Actions' menu button, open the menu."

Test instructions

  1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
  2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on the menu button.
  3. Verify the PC Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn off the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
  4. With focus on the 'Actions' menu button, open the menu.
  5. Using the following commands, With focus on the 'Actions' menu button, open the menu.

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

  1. Role 'menu' is conveyed
  2. Name 'Actions' is conveyed
  3. Role of the focused item, 'menu item', is conveyed
  4. Name of the focused item, 'Action 4', is conveyed
  5. Position of the focused item in the menu (4) is conveyed
  6. Number of items in the menu (4) is conveyed
