Testing task: Navigate backwards to a text input inside a form landmark in reading mode

With JAWS in reading mode, describe how JAWS behaves when performing task "With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Phone' text input."

Test instructions

1. Restore default settings for JAWS. For help, read Configuring Screen Readers for Testing.
2. Activate the "Open test page" button below, which opens the example to test in a new window and runs a script that sets focus on a link after the form landmark, and hides the 'Bottom' link and 'Add Contact' button.
3. Verify the Virtual Cursor is active by pressing Alt+Delete. If it is not, turn on the Virtual Cursor by pressing Insert+Z.
4. With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Phone' text input.
5. Using the following commands, With the reading cursor on the 'Navigate backwards from here' link, navigate to the 'Phone' text input.
   • Shift+F
   • Shift+E

Success Criteria

To pass this test, JAWS needs to meet all the following assertions when each specified command is executed:

1. Role 'form' is conveyed
2. Name 'Add Contact' is conveyed
3. Role 'group' is conveyed
4. Name of the group, 'Add Contact', is conveyed
5. Name of the input, 'Phone', is conveyed
6. The ability to enter text into the input is conveyed
